Launched in 2024 by Hauser & Wirth co-founder Manuela Wirth, The Forgotten Her Story started as an online platform that celebrates womanhood, craftsmanship, and the handmade by telling the stories of some of the most remarkable creative women of our time, from artists and makers to writers, dancers, and collectors. This new publication brings the project into print for the first time, welcoming readers into the lives of nine of these extraordinary women. Among those featured are renowned cookery writer Anna Del Conte, textile artist and ‘damage detective’ Celia Pym, and ballet dancer Haydeh Changizian, one of Iran’s first and only prima ballerinas. Conversations, conducted with friends and family, are accompanied by a treasure trove of photographs and ephemera, together forming a rich portrait of each woman and her unique creativity. Exquisitely presented in a carefully crafted, clothbound volume, 'The Forgotten Her Story' is a collection to spend time with, to treasure, and to pass down.
